A little about me...

  A little about me...

Welcome to my blog and thanks for clicking. For my first blog post it's just a chance for me to write down as much about myself that I can in order for you to get a sense of the person I am even through a screen.

Born in Wiltshire, England dance and performance has always been an important part of my life from dancing since the age of 3 in all genres of dance. Even from a young age it gave me a broader sense of society and self-discipline which I've carried through to my adult years. At age 10 I auditioned and successfully got the role of a ballet girl in Billy Elliot the Musical on the West End (easily the best 9 months of my life) this was the tipping point for me, making me realise that the stage is where I want to be for the rest of my life.

After years of associate programmes, ISTD Dance exams and award competitions, at 16 I moved to Leicestershire to study full-time at The School of Ballet Theatre UK for 3 years. A daunting move lead to the hardest and most rewarding three years leading to me gaining a apprentice contract with the Ballet Theatre UK company. After my apprentice year it was time to spread my wings even more and within 5 months I did short contracts with English National Ballet, Cork City Ballet and finishing with getting my current contract with Sorbisches National Ensemble in Germany, where I have been for 2 and a half years.

The opportunity of the MA Professional Practice course with Middlesex University has come just at the right time in my life. I am intrigued to see how far I can push my mind into the thought of reflective learning and using my own experiences to challenge my own thoughts and processes.
